*yoinked from last year's entries*
1. To actually make progress on all my resolutions.
Haha, what a silly resolution. Well, I'll report on that one at the end of the list.
2. To do a serious career exploration. Also, to leave RGIS for a sexier company. You think I'm kidding, but "sexy" is actually very high on the list of attributes a company I work for should have.
Well, I did leave RGIS, but said "sexier company" has not been found. Though yesterday I did get signed up with a pretty sexy temp agency.
3. To get rid of this fucking carpal tunnel crap and get my weight down to 119 lbs ("healthy" weight).
I'm not at 119 lbs yet, but I'm more than halfway there. And I'm pretty sure I'll have messed-up arms for the rest of my life if I don't take good care of myself. But I have much less pain than I did before, and much more flexibility.
4. To make a habit of taking the initiative and being proactive, rather than waiting for someone else to give me permission to act.
I'm getting a little better at that, but have not made as much progress as I would like.
5. To do more than "think positively," and way more than "don't think negatively": to love life at all times and in all circumstances.
I still hate life a lot of the time. But to be fair, this was way too big of a goal to accomplish in a year. I think I've made enough progress to say I did it.
6. To make my home less of a pigsty and more of a place of perfect beauty.
My home managed to be a place of perfect beauty for exactly one day in 2007, which was the day that I hosted a Shematrix open circle. Right now, the guest room, living room, bedroom, and computer room are pretty much clean; the beds are actually made most of the time, and the dishes don't pile up next to the sink for weeks at a time. I'd say that's progress.
7. To begin earning a fair compensation for the work I do and for my talents.
I'm currently earning a very fair compensation for the work I do; I am doing no work at all. >.>;
8. To spend less money on non-essential things.
I think I've made progress on that one, but I'm not so sure. The problem is that after cutting my spending on non-essential things, I buy things that are totally essential (and then realize a month later that they weren't really essential at all). It does help, though, to write down everything I spend money on.
9. To talk and write about more interesting things, and be more active in general so that I have more interesting things to talk about.
EPIC FAIL
So yeah I'd give myself a C average this year. Enough progress to get a passing grade, but in no way impressive.
