New People at work.
Almost completely forgot about livejournal, I really wish I could contiunely update this thing everyday because I really like reading my old entries.
For the record again my dates on all my entries are 2 years behind... Because I didnt understand wtf was going on when I first started looking at them.
Anyways.
I cant really update on EVEYTHING that has happened since my last update since I was still in frozen on my last entry. But I'm out of that now thankfully, and back on the stcok crew. So this updte will be mostly about changes at work since my last update.
Im pretty content with my job right now, I'm really getting used to it, Although it gets very frustrating at times I could easily do this for the rest of my life, even though its not what I want to do. The stock crew has completely changed since my last update. Right now its Me, Stefan, and David as far as all the original people that have been there since I started, Our newbies are Tod, Jonathan and Franklin. Let me give you some insight on these guys.
Tod is the oldest of the three, Older than David is I think, (David had congestive heart failure from overworking himself and sleep deprivation, he was in the hospital for about 2 weeks) Tod's probably about mid 40's if I had to guess. He used to be in the Air Force, Hes a pretty intelligent guy, although hes not very quick, He does things in certain ways sometimes that don't make sense, and I think he has a hard time taking advice from us since we are all significantly younger than him... But hes kinda not working overnight very often anymore since he complained about the hours and the work load to Swish, and of course his requests were met because of his background and age. (used to be a store manager, blah blah)
Franklin, Is our newest, He's 23 years old and has no prior retail experience what-so-ever. He was in the Army for 5 years, and is only part time at the moment, hes slowly taking Tods spot on the crew however since Tod doesn't like overnight. Which is a sure sign they intend to put him on the crew, that's how everyone gets started. Hes much more quick than Tod is, although he needs improvement in organization, Buts hes a very quiet guy, Id like to have him on the crew.
Jonathan, Currently the youngest on the crew, however hes been on longer than Tod and Franklin by a few months. He's 19. Hes extremely loud and obnoxious. He was very enthusiastic when he first started, however he seems to be getting sick of it. Hes been with Publix in general for 4 years I think, He was transferred from 660, but was always part time, and not on the stock crew. We though he would be quick because of his attitude, but hes pretty slow... Not as slow as Tod but hes by no means fast.. We aren't sure why since age isn't really an excuse for him. He just doesn't seem to have any hustle when hes throwing stock, even though hes very hyperactive and loud. Hes very rude and difficult to get along with at times. I can deal with him, since I can deal with just about anyone if I want to, But some people cant take him at all. One big thing about him that annoys me about him is that he talks shit ALOT, and if you talk shit to him, he just gets all pissed and whine about it like a little bitch. Even though everyone kinda teases each other on the crew and don't take it seriously. He can be pretty funny at times though... Id really like him to be put in Frozen though and have Matt back on the crew.. Matt's in frozen also... Not that the previous statment didnt imply that.
Frozen is in really good shape now that the reset is finished, Matt seems to like it alot which is good. However like I said it'd be nice if we could get him on the crew, since hes much more productive than Jonathan is. Hopefully Franklin will be full time soon.
I'm on Aisle 4 now, which is cereal. I usually throw 2 or 3 aisles depending on who we have in the mornings... Even though we have more part timers now we still get shorted people in the mornings alot... I don't understand why. We also come in at 2am instead of 3am, and don't work Saturday trucks during the day anymore which is a HUGEEEEE plus. So things have really improved on the crew. Backstock is alot lower too. Although it would be even lower if we still ordered ourselves, AR is kinda a bitch.
So yeah, all in all... that sums most of it up I guess... xD
