I really had not gone out shopping with new sheets in mind but when I passed the isle at the store something made me stop and take a look. Well actually take a feel. I must have opened a few dozen little plastic packages before I found the perfect set. Soft, smooth, and perfect to the touch. I had never had satin sheets before and was quite pleased with they way the felt against my finger. I did not care how outrageously expensive they were, I simply had to have them.
When I finally made it home the first thing I did was go to my room and changed my sheets. Technically your supposed to wash them first but I did not care, I wanted to take a nap and I wanted to do it with my new sheets. I would wash them later.
I removed my clothes and slipped into bed, enveloped by the softness of the material. It was practically perfect, exactly what I needed.
I open my eyes and looked at my clock, simply a large blur. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes. That is when I remembered that I don’t have either my contacts or my glasses and that was why I could not read the time. However when I reached for them they are not there.
I took this as a sign that I should just go back to sleep, so I laid back down an turn over on my side to..
“Knox!” I screamed bolting up to a sitting position. I held the sheets to me and looked down at Knox’s pale and clearly dead corpse. I reached over to touch him, feel his pulse, and make sure he was truly dead. I touched his shoulder, my eyes fixed on the gaping wound in his chest.
Slowly I press two fingers to his jugular and feel for a pulse. I feel nothing but coldness and than his eyes open.
