The Doc who did the injection knows his shit and wouldn't stop telling jokes. His assessment is...tennis elbow! Yaaay
He says that my thumb is numb because of another sort of tendonitis and there is also a "neurasia" (I can't figure how to spell it) where a nerve under my scapula is pissed off which is radiating down to my elbow and also causing pain.
So, a nice little combo platter.
He injected my elbow with a lot of steroids. He didn't want to do all the areas so we can tell what really helps. I was, of course, worried I was overstating my pain when he told me I'd tell him when he hit the right spot because it didn't hurt at first...then I was yelling right there in the hallway station of the clinic.
Now I'm supposed to be relaxing and not using my arm at all for the next 8 to 10 hours. I pawned rehearsal off on my very understanding boss (who doesn't really expect to see me tomorrow either, but I will try)
I'm supposed to go back next week, but I can't take a day off with our Spring Break Camp, so we'll do it again the week after.
I had to wait, both for the radiologist to look at my xray and to make sure I didn’t react to the steroids. That was about 20 minutes but the report came back - no fracture, no cancer, some small bone spurs. Honestly, the worst part was the nurses had on a news station that was reporting we wouldn't have Covid if the Dems hadn't rigged the election.
Good times all around.
