The wisdom of teeth and Netflix

I got my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday and I'm surprisingly mobile, maybe unfortunately so. I was hoping for a full week of being bedridden, in a haze of hydrocodone and chocolate pudding. I have had a chance to catch up on some movie watching. Last week Netflix delivered me my top two choice and this week it announces the end of multiple accounts. Psh!

So I got this:

instead of:

Gruff men and guns instead of romance and glitz, it appears. But not too bad considering I am a big fan of the Western. I never expected to even like these films, much less prefer them to film noirs and gangster films but I am firmly on the John Wayne bandwagon. I don't know if you're supposed to find Jimmy Stewart more compelling (He's a lawyer from the east who doesn't like guns! And he reads!) but I personally find Wayne's character to be more exciting. I love me some gun-totin' swagger.

(Note: I don't intend to use this journal to expound too much on why I liked something or didn't or what it means, I think it could be pretentious among other reasons.)

I haven't even seen too many westerns but the ones I have seen are top-notch; I recommend Stagecoach and the Searchers thus far.
