Nothing really new. Next week is the last week of vacation. I got a jury duty summons for the 23rd. I have to find a way out of it. I've been working on and off the last couple of weeks getting the lab cleaned up and whatnot for Spring.
Feeling a slight bit of depression after releasing Sound Construction. Not sure why except I feel a kind of push/pull feel. I feel like I'm hitting my stride with my abilities but I want to break far away from what I have been doing. I fear I will keep repeating a pattern. I've been reading recent interview with David Sylvian as he embarked on his last tour of europe. He stated the tour was a way to sever his ties with the past in his music style as he wants to embark more on improvisational music. I am having similar thoughts on my music as I feel the need to explore the avant-garde. Every time I read a Sylvian interview I'm reminded of why I'm drawn to his music and find myself fascinated by the intimate bits he divulges in print that make me think he and I are similar in some respects.
