I'm SOO hyper! I'm SOO still in shock! Today was the morning of the GIANT adventure! Not the totally-out-of-the-ordinary kinds of situations that I am always getting into, but a big surprise in a regular place. It's a new 24-hour market called Win Co. that just opened. You walk in through an uber spacious aisle and first see more fruits and vegetables than you have ever seen before. More than you even knew existed! All kinds from all around the world! And all cheaper than you have ever heard of! Exotic foods like papayas, prickly pear cactus fruit, pomegranates, specialty-shape squashes, key limes, every kind of mushroom, herb, green leafy thing, you name it, and you can buy it in small quantities and for CHEAP!! I don't understand why or how, but it's true!
Next, came the realm of organic everything that you can buy in any quantity, priced by the pound. From cereals, to nuts to dried fruits of every kind. And more pastas than I have ever seen in any Italian store, every bean you can think of, and candy, if you should need it by the truckload. Beyond that, was everything boxed, canned, or packaged in any way. In every brand you've ever heard of, I'm sure. Also, anything frozen, bottled, jarred, or in any other way contained. Also, cheeses from around that globe and, all other things dairy. They have it. Now, imagine a bakery with every bread, bagel, roll, pie, donut, dessert and anything else baked and it was on sale for less than $3. I got a Dutch roll I've never even heard of before for only 25 cents!
Then... the meat/seafood was like a a farm of perpetual, yummy death. Any vegan would have keeled over right away. You can just pick an animal and they have every cut of meat available from the carcass. Or, the whole carcass, if you prefer. They kept carting out more and more. I just stood back for a moment and looked around. I really can't convey how extensive and large it was in there! And, all kinds of seafood. They even sold a whole salmon, which was about three feet long!
GOD, I FELT LIKE SUCH A SHRIMP!!! Even the CART was bigger than me! I was walking around staring at the items and going "Oh my God" or "It's huge" or "I can't believe the size of that" and I couldn't help it. I really hope nobody heard me, actually, as I must have looked like a lunatic with bugging out eyes, open-mouthed smile, kinda skipping around and saying those things. But, really, Oh my God, it was huge and I can't believe the size of that stuff! Even the shoppers were big and bulky, despite some of their heights!
There were just soo many items, but nobody seemed to think it was a big deal. I wanted to run up to all those large people, grab them and say "DO YOU REALIZE THAT PEOPLE FROM THE NINETEENTH CENTURY COULD NEVER HAVE IMAGINED THIS!?!?" Because, that's what I always think of when I see an array like that.
~Don't you agree?~
