Go see in-laws for birthday party yesterday since Grandpa is bed-bound and Grandma not coming to party: good.
Both kids get to see Grandpa fairly lucid: good.
Father-in-Law even on a ton of morphine, was obviously in pain: terrible, horrible, no good, very bad.
Girlchild's 15th birthday today: good.
Mom's birthday today: good.
Boychild's first wrestling match: good.
Birthday party at movie theater: good.
Only one kid she invited showed up (her Special Olympics Peer Coach, tho, so that's good): not so good.
Got to give extra son and Mom presents from Japan: good.
Boychild's wrestling match takes all day, so he and Dad miss birthday party: not so good.
CARS 2 movie: pretty good, actually.
Got news halfway through that F-I-L had bad night. He's in hospice for cancer since last week: not good.
Ice cream cake partially melted: not so good.
Forgot candles: not so good.
Theater had some candles: good.
Don't have lighter: not so good.
Theater has 2 lighters: good.
Theater lighters don't work: not so good.
Extra son has lighter: good? *raises eyebrows*
Why extra son has lighter - "fireworks": not really plausible *frowny face*.

Extra son goes around corner to purchase lighter from gas station: good.
Girlchild didn't wait for song or wish before blowing out candles: meh.
Sang anyway: good.
Found card from her other friend that is homebound from surgery that was invited: good.
Got call that things were looking very not good at in-laws house: not good.
Left lighter at theater for next party that forgets one: good.
Go home to drop off stuff, finally fill some of the bird feeders: good.
Some birdfeeders need some serious bleaching/cleaning: bad.
Can't find birdseed scoop: annoying.
Got call that husband needs to go up to in-laws NOW, will leave boychild at wrestling match to be picked up: very not good.
Grab husband's charger, put in bag with presents, then put in my backpack: good.
Bundle up everyone to go get boychild, get in car, get going quickly: good.
Get call that it's over at in-laws just as husband was leaving school: BAD.

Get lost finding HS where boychild is: annoying.
Get boychild, he came in 4th of 4 at his first wrestling match, was mad at coach: not so good.
Tell boychild about Grandpa: 'worst day ever - missed birthday party, lost at wrestling, and now this.'
Take wrong turns while talking to husband on way up: annoying.
Go to in-laws, park at school across street (their driveway is small and a pain to park in): meh.
Nurse cleaning up meds by pouring into an adult diaper (liquid meds first): O.o
F-I-L looks peaceful finally: somewhat good.
Go across street to car to get husband's charger, thought was in bag with birthday presents, can't find: bad.
Get remains of birthday cake from car, it falls and lands upside down: par for the day.
Go back inside, find charger in backpack: good.
Kids get some snuggle/comfort time with dad/aunts/uncles: good.
Go take kids to movie to get them out of house when funeral home comes to get F-I-L: I'm the best D-I-L ever - good.
Chipmunks movie: I'm the best mom ever *rolls eyes dangerously far*
Now have headache and can't take anything for it because of surgery tuesday: FML.
Extra son gets picked up and find out from his Dad he's been suspended 3 days for "bad choices/stupidity": double plus ungood.
Viewing tentatively set Wednesday pm and funeral Thursday so a) I can be there after surgery even if moving very slowly and b) everyone flying in can be there. Don't want to change surgery since I'm already all prepped for it.
