1. What first drew you into the SCA?
A boyfriend my freshman year in college was into comics. Folo ran the comic club. Folo also ran the SCA in the area. Logical progression ensued.
2. What keeps you in the SCA at this point?
The people, and I still get to experiment with stuff. My next big project will be building a brick oven in the back yard, just cuz I can and I want to.
3. Let's say you won the lottery. What would you do?
Pay off my house and credit cards, set up the kids for college (boy) and lifetime support (girl). Then probably start philanthropic investments. I'd keep working tho, to keep my sanity.
4. I only know you as a service person, like me. Do you practice any A&S in any sort of "serious" way?
I used to do middle eastern dance fairly seriously. Then costuming. Now it's mostly cooking. I did an authentic 12th night feast with no cows or chickens involved (early saxon winter feast) a few years ago and it was quite fun and tasty. I'm a dabbler.
5. If for some reason, you and your family *had* to move to another country, but it could be anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?
Probably Ontario in Canada, since a) we have friends there, and b) we could still visit the US relatively frequently. Chances are (tho I've not researched it) that they would have similar programs for adult autistic people that we'd need for girlchild's future. I don't think we're going to get to plan for a retirement that doesn't include managing her in some way. But she's cute so we'll keep her.
Places I'd like to visit for long vacations include Iceland, England, Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia, Germany, Nepal (again), Thailand (again), Micronesia and other tropical places. Other than that I'd still like to see the rest of the planet before I have to get off.
