Rarely has the divide between "technically feasible" and "practical" been so jarring. I could make it to to the Roswell, GA Black Phoenix Will-Call event this Sunday, and even hit Dragon*Con in Atlanta for a few hours beforehand. It would mean a 900 mile, 14 hour drive each way and two motel stays, but it's possible. Just not, y'know, affordable. For the price of gas alone I could order bottles of everything I'm curious to sniff and books by most of the authors I'd want to see. Le sigh. Someday I will have a practical excuse for a roadtrip, and it will be fun, but that day is not today.
