I'm actually going to be a little atypical here and name Don Simon Ysidro, from Barbara Hambly's vampire books. They're probably the only vampire-themed series I've really enjoyed. (Not bad when considered as historical novels, either, though I prefer her Benjamin January mysteries for interesting insights into times past.) Anne Rice is self-indulgent, Twilight is thoroughly unimpressive, and Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake books win the WTF?! award for horrifically badly written and pointless porn. :P
I want to see
G-Force. I'm sure it's utterly juvenile and stupid, but my brain just saw the trailer, went "PIGGIES!!!," and immediately shut down in a welter of "awww, lookit the cute little furry things with the feet and the bellies and the floppy little ears..."
Oh, and I think I've bought a car. Or at least I will have come Wednesday. Yikes.... Now trying to figure out how the frell to get all my money in one place by Wednesday so I can get a cashier's check. For some reason PayPal dropped the bank account information on my old account, so I'm having to reconfirm it before I can transfer money, and instant confirm failed. :P That and I didn't get to the bank while it was still open today, so I'll have to deposit the insurance refund check tomorrow and hope the funds are available in 24 hours... come on, Check21! Argh.
(Yes, guy-who-is-selling-the-car, I know it's de rigueur to have the funds available immediately. However, since it's Monday, and I wasn't aware I'd need a new car until the weekend, there's not too terribly much to be done about that. You wouldn't have gotten any money before Tuesday anyway, given we met after the banks closed. I was hardly going to get a cashier's check for the full amount without seeing the car and negotiating! So I refuse to be patronized, thx. You're the one in a hurry to sell. You can wait.)
