So this was Arisia weekend, and I was not there.
There were several reasons for this: first, I was seriously depressed over my costume failing to be finished yet again; second, money is tight and Arisia is a pricy con, so I thought it better to save my money for house-buying and wedding plans; and third, January has suddenly become a very busy month -- among other things, my job is sending me to Las Vegas* next week for a conference -- and trying to cram in a con on top of everything proved Just Too Much. The only real downside was not getting to see my friends, though I can't say I'm sorry to have missed the elevator psychosis so many of you reported.
So what I did instead? Some freelance work, some tatting, some house-cleaning. Visiting friends and playing "Guitar Hero II" into the wee hours. Watched The Seven Samurai and some classic Doctor Who ("The Androids of Tara"). Today I'm redoing the points on my wedding shoe lasts, and will be meeting with E. for more shoemaking. It wasn't a con, but still a pleasant long weekend. Wish I could have seen everyone, but I honestly don't think I would have been up to it.
*Yes,
racerexmachina, I am planning to go to the Liberace museum while I'm in Vegas.
