Dayenu, revisited
Doing my own meme, because I'm lame that way. Also revising it slightly.
Dayenu is a Hebrew word meaning, "It would have been enough." List one good thing that's happened to you, something that would have been enough. Then list another good thing that came of the first one, and so on, as far as you can take it.
If Parabola had agreed to print my SW essay, "In Sheep's Clothing," it would have been enough.
If velvetpaws had talked me into posting said essay on the website, it would have been enough.
If the editors of the "Star Wars and Philosophy" book had seen my essay on the web and invited me to contribute to their book, it would have been enough.
If the essay that I wrote, "A Certain Point of View," which let me explore the question of why the Jedi lie and Sith tell the truth in the SW movies, had gotten accepted, it would have been enough.
If the essay had caught my current employer's attention, convincing him to give me an interview, it would have been enough.
If I'd done well enough at the interview to finally end almost a full year of unemployment, it would have been enough.
If the editor of the SW book had emailed me calls for submissions for new volumes in the Pop Culture and Philosophy series, it would have been enough.
If one of the calls was for a book on The Daily Show, for which I actually have a neat idea and plan to submit, it would have been enough.
