Just a quick post to honour the memory of Hunter S. Thompson, forefather of gonzo journalism, who killed himself yesterday. It seems like such a tragic loss of genuine talent in a world overcrowded with bookshops selling deadline meeting trash and journalists losing sleep over the latest celebrity affair. It was great to see someone finally pushing the boundaries, defining an era and a lifestyle, dismissing the traditional American Dream and embracing life in all it's bizarre glory. There will never be another journalist quite like him.
