Ok, so does anyone remember that song by Live called Overcome? Great song, right? Well, when 9/11 happened, they remade that song with little clips throughout it of people talking about what happened and it was really emotional. I remember that as soon as I started to become de-sensitized of the whole Trade Towers incident, I would hear that song and start to feel for everyone all over again.
Well, this morning, I was listening to a remake of another song with all the victims of Hurricane Katrina added in. It was so emotional and moving. By the time the song was over, I realized that I had been crying during the whole song and didn't know it. Granted, I am PMS-ing, but still... it was just so real and it definitely put into perspective how tragic this whole thing is. We sit at home and complain about the price of gas, which I agree is awful, but think of those people's situations. It sort of knocks you down a notch when you think of people who would kill to have their only heartache as gas at $3.39 a gallon.
Then I heard this song and just lost it...
I know there's something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes.
You've built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.
Listen to your heart when he's calling for you.
Listen to your heart, there's nothing else you can do.
I don't know where you're going and I don't know why,
but listen to your heart before you tell him goodbye.
Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.
The precious moments are all lost in the tide.
They're swept away and nothing is what is seems,
the feeling of belonging to your dreams.
And there are voices that want to be heard.
So much to mention but you can't find the words.
The scent of magic, the beauty that's been...
when love was wilder than the wind.
