Yes sir, that's a JFK quote. See what I'm learning? Heh.
So, I register for classes on Friday. Yeah, this Friday. I can't take history classes (besides my Honors Thesis, which I finally emailed profs for), so mostly it's going to be anthro and religion.
Possible Next Year Schedule:
Fall
Mon/Wed:
SPN 310 Basic Spanish Grammar 9:10-10AM
ANP 411 North American Indian Ethnography 10:20-11:40AM
Tues/Thurs:
TE 250 Human Diversity, Power, and Opportunity in Social Institutions: Urban Education Section (I hope...) 1-2:20PM
PSY 236 Personality 2:40-4PM PSY 235 Social Psychology 10:20-11:40AM (with Noel as a TA!)
Friday: (NO! FRIDAY CLASSES!)
SPN 310 Basic Spanish Grammar 9:10-10AM
Plus my Honors thesis research will make 15 credits, which I should be starting this summer in Ireland...since it's going to be partially about Ireland. And dead people. And immigrants. Maybe my great-great-grandad?
I also dropped a class because I realized that taking 15 credits means that I pay more for classes I don't actually need.
Spring
Mon/Wed:
REL 220 Religion in America (Honors section) 10:20-11:40AM
SPN 330 Phonetics and Pronunciation 12:40-2PM
Tues/Thurs:
Rel 306 Native American Religions 12:40-2PM
Plus writing my Honors thesis and all, making 12 credits. Debating whether to take another class to make 15 credits since I'm writing my thesis and I should be concentrating on that...Also, I ran out of classes I thought might be interesting.
I finally got accepted into my Study Abroad program! Which is awesome, since I also enrolled in my independent study course and got an email that my internship section is in the process of getting up on the site. This is awesome, because it means I get to stop bugging my prof. Also, I'm proud that I finally stopped procrastinating and emailed three history profs about working with me on my thesis; one has already responded with her office hours. Need to see my adviser about what to do next for my thesis, specifically what I need to be telling Diane (my Ireland advisor-lady) to make me do over the summer, and going over my classes. I'm taking Native American-themes classes partially for museum work-- the Field Museum in Chicago has a internship supervisor in that area and the Smithsonian has a whole damn museum. Plus, it's interesting. I mean, who would've known that there has been Pocahontas/"Indian Princess" imagery from the 17th century all the way up until now? (PS: The Disney movie? Terrible, in retrospect. I might rent the sequel this weekend if it's at the Montrose Library just for giggles.)
