Hello...
I am just going to up and resume posting right now as though I have not been severely not updating my lj for quite a few months.
Soo...tonight I was supposed to hang out with Eddie, but he still has not called me back. I did not really care b/c I was kind of tired and hadn't really gotten a chance to play with the new laptop even though I've had it since last week.
So I made a sandwich, watched an episode of Ab Fab, and played on the internets for a long time. I went through a bunch of myspace friend requests that were bands...I did not like a single one of them!!! I have been a bit disgruntled with music lately...the past few times I have been out to see random dj's they have been really disappointing...I saw the Glimmers at PS1 probably a month or so ago...not good...I actually left and went into the museum (mainly to use the bathroom, which there was a huge line for, which then led me to actually look at the "art" and have a "modern art is such bullshit" mental tirade, which btw is a huge over-generalization, I like some modern art). So yeah...their set was not floating my boat and then they tried to rescue their set with the Eurhythmics "Sweet Dreams"...when I got out of the musuem they were playing Bob Marley...I could not take it. I am all for throwing in a good pop track into an already banging dance mix, but when it is clear that your set is floundering I do not think you should try to save it with the Eurythmics. At least I wouldn't if I were a dj...speaking of which I really need to get on that. I am serious.
My other horribly disappointing dj experience was seeing James Murphy at Hiro. He was not mixing the songs together. That is not acceptable. That is not dj-ing. I was so pissed, you have no idea. I left early.
Also, just listening to music in general, I am sick of my cd's right now. I keep listening to the same ones over and over, so now they are getting played out and none of the other ones appeal to me. I bought a few new ones the other day (ATOC Sucks!, Royksopp's Night Out, and Basement Jaxx' Rooty). I have been listening to the Royksopp non-stop, the ATOC alot too, Rooty not so much...so I am afraid I am going to over-do those and get sick of them soon.
Really what I have been dying to hear is Mylo's Destroy Rock and Roll album which Eddie has had for months...I want it back! I miss it! I have his copy of Ladytron's 604, but come on- the Mylo is so much better.
Speaking of Ladytron I am still debating whether or not to see them dj at Hiro tomorrow night. I do not want to go b/c I have gotten kind of lazy about going out lately just in general and also due to the aforementioned shitty experiences. However, Eddie saw them once before and said they were pretty awesome. I have been listening to their mix on the East Village Radio Show and it is pretty interesting and good, so I am kind of tempted. Another annoying thing is I am on antibiotics b/c of this whole dental situation from hell so there will be no drinking...no drinking...at Hiro...could be a bit rough. So we'll see if that happens.
I guess that is all for now. I am beat. I am going to try to go to bed by 11 which will give me a whole 8 hours of sleep which would rock.
