Sort of Sims Related
About six weeks ago, I had intruders. They broke into the house, via the kitchen window, whilst I was asleep.
I imagine that they thought the house was empty. After all, it was before nine on a Saturday evening. Most people are awake. I wasn't being most people at the time. I'd gone to bed at around six with a migraine. Not alone, I hasten to add - I had seven cats and a large Irish Setter with me.
When I awoke, with a bit of a start, at around nine. I couldn't work out why my bedroom door was shut tight. I went downstairs to find doors open. After quickly shutting the back door and doing a head count of the cats (the dog was right beside me) I, possibly stupidly, checked out the other rooms. Apart from a pile of my stuff stacked in the dining room, the open doors and the ajar kitchen window, I could find nothing amiss.
Eventually my brother and I concluded that, because of the size of the kitchen window - it's a small gap, up high, about two and a half feet wide - that it must have been kids, who thought that the house was empty. It is easy to see why they may have thought so - along with the lack of light and sounds so early in the evening - look through the window of the living room and there is no furniture to see and the floor is bare of carpet
I really should be thankful at my lucky escape. Thankful that I was safe. Thankful that I didn't wake up when they came upstairs. Thankful that I didn't have to confront them.
I'm slightly amused imagining the shock that they must have felt to push open a door wider and come across a large dog and a sleeping person. Irish Setters are not the best of guard dogs and Tilly is sweeter and dafter than most.
I had thought that I'd lost nothing but about £7 in cash. Until tonight, that is.
There is absolutely no sign of my Sims 3 box and disc. No sign of my Sims 2 disks - bar Apartment Life and an empty Seasons box. Bah, bah and double bah.
I'm very irritated, don't let the mild language fool you. I've been catching up on things over the last few days and discovered that Create-a-World for the Sims 3 is out. I also discovered a world that I'd love to download and explore... just need to update my installation by downloading a few patches...
I'd like my disks back NOW please.
