A Dark Day for Gloomy Music

Well, after a prolific and lucrative six day run, I’m sad to announce that my band, celtic goth quartet Direland, has broken up. Officially, me and the other members just grew apart, but I’d be lying if I said there hadn’t been creative problems and legitimacy issues from the very beginning, chief among those being that none of us were Irish. Or goth. Or musicians. But for those glorious six days, we somehow overlooked all that to produce our first, and last, album, Potato Famine. Yeah, most of it was pretty much what you’d expect from four untrained, untalented, occasionally unconscious people, whom didn’t play, or in some cases own, instruments (our bass player just said “Bow, bow-bow, bow” a lot, our drummer had to clap, making most of his solos quite lame), but there were a few high points, like track 6, Shame-us, or track 8, Leper-chaun. And if ever there was a more bitchin cover of Danny Boy, I have yet to hear it. But alas, all good things, right? Everyone decided to go their separate ways, and most of them are working on new projects. Our bassist has moved on to become holistic rap sensation Herbal T. As for me, I’ve recently (today) joined a vegetarian 80’s-style pop group, Oats and Oates. We’ve got a dream, people.
