I meant to add more to it but I've edited it and if I don't post it now I never will.
Pretty Little Liars thoughts through episode 4x20 Free Fall. Has some negativity of characters in it so just skip if you're not up for that.
So I'm getting more and more disappointed in Pretty Little Liars and I know I shouldn't be. I say shouldn't be because none of this is really a surprise. They are repetitive with their plots and beats and they have shown a strong resolve in sticking with couples I find unpleasant and a general refusal to vilify in any way a few specific gross things that some characters do.
The Spencer stuff now is just like what we had at the end of last year, she's falling apart, she's struggling, she's trying to find out whats going on and A or whoever is messing with her. Oh and not to mention now that she's falling apart again her clothes change and her hair/makeup get 'worse'. It just feels like almost exactly the same shit as Radley. And yeah there's a different reason but it's hard to care when the last reason was swept under the rug and a lot of it ignored ever since (Toby!). Why can't one of the other girls have a breakdown instead of our now annual Spencer breakdown? (It does make some sense for her character given how intense she is, it just is annoying to have to watch it all over again, and at pretty much the same point in the season/with similar reasons).

some good thoughts on Spencer by a thoughtful writer)
I hope to god Aria has a huge legit breakdown and destroys Ezra and that is the end of them forever.
But, it won't be. The show runner(s) love the couple. (

I am glad it wasn't a 10000% cop out and Ezra was magically not at all creepy. Because even if that reveal was the whole thing then at least it gives him some selfish (gross) motivation. Really thought it doesn't track with the extreme things he's been shown doing. Who writing a book stalks teenaged girls especially 2(?) years after you are supposedly in love with one of them now. Was he stalking them at the beginning too? Before he 'loved' Aria. Also how could any dude be so stupid to assume a 15 (max) yo was ~18. She certainly didn't act like the most mature person ever, nor did she look that old.
And of course I dont think they're gonna go any worse with Ezra. I wish they would because making him more evil/more nefarious is the most reasonable thing honestly. Though I suppose anyone watching this show knows they're not big on reason. I just have this gross suspicion (why? Because Toby!) that by next season (hopefully not this season!) Aria forgive him eventually and their 'true love' will be too strong to keep them apart. I don't want to be so annoyed at this show, but it seems determined to make me hate so much of it while I love so many other parts of it.
