Made for landofart. Sorted two fictional characters into Harry Potter houses. I kind of picked easy ones (at least in my opinion) because I'm not really good at this sort of thing.
Buffy Summers. I don't know how anyone could think about Buffy and not think about her bravery. She was chosen for reasons beyond her control to serve a destiny she had no control over (similar to Harry, really). Buffy was often afraid, depressed, hurt and just plain annoyed at what being a Slayer did to her life. But she never really gave up. She killed people she once loved, she often sacrificed her relationships and her happiness all for the greater good. Of course she could be selfish at times like anyone can be, but she always fought her hardest when it counted and came through for her friends and for the world.
Gaius Baltar. Gaius Baltar is a selfish bastard, there's no denying it. From the minute he heard about the cylon attacks on the colonies, his first thoughts were about how they would affect him, and how he could get out of any implications that he was involved. Almost every single thing he did on Galactica was in order to protect himself or eventually to make himself more popular. Baltar flirted dangerously close with almost destroying the human race more than once, because of his own selfishness or weaknesses. While Baltar obviously values science and intelligence, it's his inability for self sacrifice or even vague empathy for other people that places him firmly in Slytherin.
