Photo 5: Olive Art
These are a duo of paintings I painted when I lived at the 1702. I needed some art for my bedroom, and rather than purchase something, I decided to create something. Dick Blick was having a sale, so I purchased some canvases and paint and went at it. I kind of knew what I wanted, and Ben created the design using MSPaint (of all things). I transferred it to the canvases and painted it using the colors that were in my old bedroom.
I like these canvases because they're versatile. I could hang them separate, or arrange them so they have that retro, olive pattern. I really like them. Currently, they're hanging on the wall at the base of our stairs, so they're the first thing a person sees upon entering our basement.
