I feel a lot better now, post-Status Anxiety.1 Locking a couple of previous entries and locking myself into the next book.

1On the notion of books being a comfort: I thought this only applied to childhood and bedtime stories and the cultivation of a fantasy world where fish liver oil was a magic potion and bully-classmates were aliens speaking gibberish. I thought this only applied to high school vs. Hogwarts. Glad to discover it works for quarter-life crises, as well as those deep-seated insecurities we never grow out of and overcome if only for a while. The span of a book, that is.
