Aloha all. So, today was the first weigh in of the twelve week cycle. After having a pretty good food week - giving in now and again, but overall making good choices and maintaining my food journal on Fitday.com every day - I lost 1% of my weight. Pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. There were a few show-offs that I heard of loosing quite a bit, but if I were to maintain this over the twelve weeks - that would be 12% down. And we have probably all heard that if you can loose 10% of your weight, you will see vast health benefits, right?
Successes:
1. No pop. Not even a sip! For that matter - there has been no caffeine.
2. I am taking my lunch to work to be able to regulate what I am eating. Free lunch at work the next two days will be a great test to see if I can bypass the grease and go for a good salad! (Because I also cannot pass up free!)
3. Regulating and being happy with a small dessert. I made a batch of cookies and had two each night. I love cookies, so this was a challenge for me!
Challenges:
1. The desire for dessert has not decreased - but I did notice that a few things tasted better/sweeter than I remember - carrots for example.
2. Home cooking/portions. I can take my lunch at work and feel complete - but at home I do not have a time crunch for eating, and serve myself more than I need. There was not a time in this past week that I was stuffed like I have done to myself in the past (The oh, I am so full I am going to be sick feeling that you totally do to yourself) but I certainly ate more than was necessary. The challenge comes in learning where that limit lies.
3. Being happy in myself. I need to focus on myself, and what I am able to accomplish without looking to what others are doing! We are all different!
So happy news for the week gives me encouragement for the upcoming week of meeting the challenge!
