Don't see the parallel? Allow me to explain...
1. Chuck lays the bait.
2. Vanessa initially resists, but then goes to find Chuck and agrees to his request.
3. Both seem to be pleased with the alliance, convinced they are about to get what they want.
4. Somewhere along the way.... the universe repels the idea of Chuck and Vanessa doing anything together, and their scheme fails almost instantly.
5. In the end, nobody gets what they want. (Except for a piece of ass, which Chuck manages to figure out the second time around. If he's going to lose his own game, he might as well get laid. Right??)
