Interesting parallel.

Although, I prefer the fact that Serena comforts Blair, to be better. Whereas, Ali only further encourages Hanna to make herself worse and not better.

At least, that's what I believe.

I'd agree with that. Both Blair and Hanna accept the comfort as "help" but Ali, as with pretty much everything she does, is equal parts helping her friend and keeping her in line.
