I wondered how you were doing.

Don't you hate being homeless?

No, it was a bit of a relief, actually. :) It meant I no longer had to think about my own apartment, (which I didn't live in anymore anyway), and could instead start focusing on the new place.

Besides it really change my housing situation; I'd been living with a friend for over a month already at that time.

Some folks are just like that I guess. I haven't been happier since I moved back in by myself. Getting a roommate would really help me financially, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I like my privacy too much.

Oh, I like my privacy, too, but I'm very adaptable. Had to be to survive in this world. :P
Besides I always knew it was a temporary solution, while I looked for a place to live. Couldn't commute from Aalborg to Sønderborg; it's over 300 km. And my friend and I understand each other well and didn't have trouble with keeping out of each other's spaces.

But having to deal with a past, a future, and a present housing plus work was very stressful, so it felt so good to finally being able to let go of the old apartment and just focus on what was now and lay ahead.

Some days I think it would just be easier to buy a Volkswagen camper and live on the streets.

But I enjoy regular bathing too much.

That, and it would be much too small for me. I need my living space.
Just moved into a three room apartment for the same reason.

Yes, too small. I like small, but there is a limit. I've been looking into the tiny-house movement here in the United States. Some of them are actual houses, but tiny. One of my favorites is this one, which is under 900 square feet. To give a comparison, most homes in the United States are at least 1500 square feet, and many are over 3000 square feet. Americans always seem to think bigger is better.

But these shepherd's huts from the UK are pretty cool too. I guess I'm just at that point in my life where I want to go minimalist. Then again, my two-bedroom apartment is very comfortable and I have lots of space. Could I give that up? I don't know.

Hmm, I don't think 900 sf is that small, but standard being 1500-3000? That's just crazy and it does explain why the bubble burst. I wouldn't want to have to clean that much. :P

The huts are cool, but I couldn't live in one. I like my stuff too much. But it'd make for a nice camper/summerhouse. :)

Back when I was married we owned a 1400 square foot house with four bedrooms. I liked it. But for two people it was enormous! We didn't need that much space, although we did have two guest rooms which was nice. Used them a few times too. Yes, cleaning was a chore. And curiously the kitchen was tiny. We wanted to expand it but that never happened.

But I simply can't imagine these 3000 square foot and larger houses. That's too much.
