Yes, I'm still alive. :P I've just been busy doing many different things, and so I fell out of the habit of keeping up here. Tch. Have to change that.
Right now I'm supposed to be reading for tomorrow; I've decided to really be a good student for the rest of my time studying, and that involves a lot of reading. Not that I mind; I really like my main

I got Eric, already read. ;) But my sis miscalculated; she thought I had until Guards! Guards!, but I only have until (and including) Pyramids, so guess I'll have to close that gap soon. ;) I LOVE Discworld, so whenever I get one of those I have to read it.
Yes, you will want patiently. :P Or I could find one from the event I attended in it. ;) Doesn't look like my birds think we shall head to bed anyway.

Not the best, but I've only got a couple saved.
And a close up:

I'm planning on adding some more pictures to my album taken by others at the event, so some better full costume pics should come. :) Now go and make that costume you're thinking about!

I take back everything I said on the other thread. If you showed up on my doorstep dressed in that thing I'd jump the light-saber with you in a heartbeat. You're delicious, my dear!
*grump* Sorry. Now I feel like a dirty old man. */grump*
Don't take that all too seriously, except where it's complimentary. :D
Costume is on hold until I can save up some money. Went on a motorcycle trip a couple of weeks ago that depleted my reserves quite a bit. But I met some on-line friends from Australia which was good and we had a good time. I'll post pictures in my LJ when I get a minute.
The sad thing is, I drive past the Pendleton Woollen Mill factory store every week or so. That's where I need to go to pick up some quality tartan fabric. I found something almost like what I want at a different place, but the quality from Pendleton would be considerably better, but also considerably more expensive. I'm just afraid if I go in there I'll spend money I don't have. I also need to find time to go down to Portland Leather and get some supplies.
Found a pair of boots I want too, but they're almost $300 USD which I just don't have right now.
Sigh. Maybe by Christmas.
Mmm-hmm. You really are completely adorable Lora. It's no wonder you're fighting off the boys. Better keep practicing the Taekwondo and maybe take up Jeet-kune-do as well!
Take care

You do know that's a challenge, right? Of course, there's a bit of a long way to your doorstep... :P
And you don't need to feel like a 'dirty old man'. I'll admit to having 'dated' a man who was considerably older than me once. Nothing serious, but he was nice. ;) And he's not the only one considerably older than me, who have invited me on a date.
If you should have any doubt the guys in the Legions like that costume (as well as other feminine costumes) quite a lot, and I think they'll want me to come in that for the next thing we are doing. ;P (One guy has tried on occasion to get me to do a Slave Leia).
Aw, too bad about not having the money for the costume you want to do. I'm lucky in that way that I've managed to buy quite a few fabrics cheaply in the last few months, so I've got fabrics for a new tunic (both for an inner tunic and an outer tunic), and tabards for a new jedi and (hopefully) fabric for an entirely new costume I'm going to make with my littlesis. :) Of course there's still a few other materials that will be needed, but I'm planning to spread the expense out over the coming months.
o_O The fabrics from that place really are expensive! I can see why it's hard to find the money for them. And leather isn't cheap either. It's the reason I mostly work with scrap leather; it's affordable. Of course, it's also usually of the thin kind, so it can't be used for things like belts and so on. Works great for pouches though.
I really want a new pair of boots. *sigh* The leatherboots I have are good looking, but walking around in them a full day is killing my feet. And with some of the things I do, I'm walking/standing around in them for more than one day. But boots aren't cheap either and they have to be if I'm going to buy new onces.
Hmm, I think I should do a costume post soon. I've got pictures of my new one and plenty of projects I want to do/will soon do.
(Taekwondo is a bit on hold right now due to focusing on school. But I plan to change that! And I'd love to take up another martial art, but I don't have the time. ;) I've falling a bit in love with kyusho this summer so I'd love to learn that).
You take care, too. :D I'd better start reading for tomorrow. ;)

I'll feel like a dirty old man if I want to. I'm not that old, but I'm certainly lecherous and I'm older than you. I'd ask for pictures of you as Slave Girl Leia too, except I never particularly liked that outfit. On the other hand, the little white number with the bare midriff Natalie Portman wears in Episode Two is another thing entirely.drool You'd look good in it. A little more athletic while still being feminine. And kick-ass.
I flirt with younger women all the time, but I haven't dated anyone more than a couple years younger than me. I'll take your comment as a willingness to tempt fate and thumb our noses at conventional wisdom. When and if we ever get within a few hundred miles of each other it's a date. If you're not careful I'll start pursuing you. Gently and from afar, but pursuit none the less. With your permission, of course.
I doubt I'll buy tartan fabric from Pendleton. I can get serviceable tartan from several other places for 1/4 the price, but like I said the quality isn't as good. But for my purposes it doesn't have to be. Luckily I came up with a HUGE piece of leather for free a while back. I swear it's a whole cow's worth. Trouble is, it's kind of purple or dark blue. I'll have to bleach it and then dye it black or brown. That's what I need from Oregon Leather. It's nice having a really good leather works close by. They've also got scraps and bits in a bin for cheap.
These are the boots I want. They're expensive because they're all custom made and I have hard-to-fit feet. But they're very high quality too. I'm tempted by these boots, but I think they're too tall for everyday wear. I tend to wear my motorcycle boots a lot once they're broken in. My old ones are completely worn out and not worth repairing. That's the trouble with $150 motorcycle boots.
Now you need to stop reading my blathering and focus on your school reading.
Talk to you later,

Personally I like the lightblue midriff much more, and that is a costume on the list. ;) I even got a bunch of lightblue fabric lying around. Now I just need time and figuring out a pattern for it... two things I lack at the moment.
Can you bleach leather? I never tried that, only dyeing on top of another color. (It showed through to some extent when I dyed brown on top of a more red-purplish color).
(Okay, I have to admit I'm so tired I can barely spell. Not the long sentences I'm making right now).
I better get dinner going; I'm visiting a friend the next couple of days and going to a wedding, and I still haven't packed anything!
Good luck finding the money for the boots. :) No new shoes/boots for me right now!

The light blue number IS nice, but it kinda depends on what you're trying to accomplish. I'm all for it, either way. ;^D
Yes you can bleach leather. I haven't done it but from what I understand that's what your problem was. I've been researching it because I have this big piece in blue. Who wants blue leather?
Costume pictures in blue, white, or scarlett are always welcome. Or any color.
