Well, it depends a bit on what you're shopping. ;) But yes, I prefer shopping with someone else. And since my sister has almost forbidden me to shop by myself... :P
The only problem with all that new stuff is that it have to be washed alone the first time. I'm going to need a lot of buckets... o_O ('Cause I'm not paying for washing that much piece by piece).
I guess it all depends on if you are "shopping" or "Buying." Most guys like to buy stuff. They usually know what they want and where to find it. They go there, buy it, and go home. Most women on the other hand, seem to like the hunt. They go somewhere to see if there's something there they might like to buy. I don't know why this is, it just seems to be true.
You're welcome to come over to my place and do your laundry, even one at a time. Of course that may not be very practical.
(Hey! I thought you were the sewing queen? How come you're not making your own awesome fashions?)
*laugh quietly* No, I think going to your place will take longer than just washing it here. ;)
I shop, then buy. :P But I always have an idea of what I want when I go shopping. Why else should I go shopping in the first place? Making stuff myself? Sure, have thought of it, but given how slowly I tend to work when it comes to my own projects, I don't think it'd be a good idea. ;P
I've always wanted to make a custom leather jacket but I don't have the confidence or even know where to begin. It's tough to buy the kind of jacket I would like (or very very expensive.)
Heh, today I did some bit of fixing on one of my blouses. Nothing major, but I did it. I even got my broken fairies clued yesterday, so they look normal again. :) (I wish people would learn not to swing something into them and make them fall to the floor).
Currently I'm doing some pretty simple leatherwork. I'm making new pouches for a costume. Two so far, both almost, but not quite done. And I'm slowly amassing more tools for it. Trying out magnetic locks for one of the pouches. :) I'm just sad that I didn't buy more of the leather when I bought these two pieces, 'cause I love the leather, both color and tickness, and would like to make more pouches(different kinds). I think I'll check to see if they still got the scraps I bought next time I'm in Aarhus. I might try out belts at some point, but haven't thought about other leather projects so far.
Sounds fun. I just had an awesome steampunk costume idea the other day while daydreaming at work. I'll need patterns, but more importantly I need enthusiasm.
Essentially it's a pari of trousers in night-watch tartan, shoes with leather gaiters, a split neck shirt out of muslin, and a waistcoat with a high neck. Oh, and an old Batman style utility belt with the obligatory death ray.
And possibly a brass and glass eye.
Don't know if I'll actually do it though. Time for a trip over to Oregon Leather!
Ooh... Sounds like a fun project. :D Probably one that will take some time and effort, but then most costumes seems to take time and effort. ;)
I did a little ekstra work on one of my pouches around new year, but I had forgotten my scissors(doh!), so it wasn't all that much. And now I should probably concentrate on my exam/re-exam. The more I get done before semester start the better.

What kind of leatherwork are you considering?
