T minus 1

Few people are aware, but today is the last day of my marriage to my (ex)wife.

I'm doing mostly fine, and I'll call people if I need to chat. Otherwise, I'll be enjoying some solitude as I attempt to create a satisfactory closure on this relationship.

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life!

And coincidentally, it's also a Tuesday.

Mmm... Tacos...

It's been a while, so perhaps I'll swing by. Assuming I don't have a hot date, of course.

There's nothing like Taco Tuesday to make a hot date hotter.

Does it work on luke-warm dates? I might be able to pull that off with short notice.

A PSA for "X" (X being Randy for the other "mortals/non-lord-believers" on this board... lord I've already said too much haven't I. Yes?) anywho...

X,

What a great man you are! After having a long and interesting talk/life lesson with an "elder" at work today, I am happy to be able to call you a man, and not a guy. It's too much to explain here, but everyone just nod and agree with me on this one. You've got alot ahead of you, always remember to smile and enjoy it. And if you don't, then just carry lots of ammunition and aim wildly.

Since I'm on my soapbox, is it wrong for one to refer to themselves as a LORD? You know, an almighty and powerful being? The ladies in the office seem to differ and look down upon it. Me thinks they are a bit on the jealous side. *silence... crickets chirping*

*stepping off soap box*

SUPER (1), OUT!

Refering to one's self as a "lord" could possibly be offensive to some of religious persuation. Others may find it to be a bit "young". Kind of similar to when people created clubs with their friends back in the day that they excluded the folks that were not "worthy" or "cool" enough to join. Just my thoughts on the subject...

It depends on the usage of the appellation "lord". For a large part of the Christian community, "lord" is typically used as the proper noun "Lord", implying God. However, this is more of an American concern. The British and Australians are used to using "lord" as a title. The word indicates a position in the royal hierarchy.

Coming from an American Christian background myself, I'd be more offended by "God BP". I'd find the offense to be rather minor; there are too many religions, both alive and dead, that worship multiple gods or include a mortal incarnation of a god.

I see the humor of the title "Lord BP", humor that persists only because you do not take it seriously, either. And there's always room for fun at work. Just know your audience. :)
