In good news, here are some things that make me happy.
I think that this thread about beasts is made of win. (Particularly for gamers, but perhaps even for non-gamers.)
I love Kate Beaton's comics in general, and found this set to be highly educational. In particular, I learned a truly fascinating thing about Canadian money.

I have started to decorate my mini-cubicle at work, and one of the things I have there is a small plastic T. Rex that I found on the sidewalk a few years ago. His name is Washburne. (If I find or purchase another toy dino, it will be named Hoban.) It is surprisingly fun to play with between calls. Washburne tried to attack stuffed R2-D2, but backed down quickly when he realized that stuffed R2-D2 is about three or four times his size.
I was visited by St. Nicholas today, and he brought me chocolate and the book It's Not Easy Being Green, which is filled with quotes from and about Jim Henson. Yay!
