Childhood held innocence
Adolescence --
mixed emotion...pain
Adulthood --
finally we are sane?
We've overcome hurdles
Dealt with the consequences of pain
Celebrated our happiness
and still we remain
As scraps of our childhood
pages of adolescent pain
issues of adulthood
this is what makes us sane
We learn
We love
We live
We grow
Each day forms opinion
Each night brings thought
Each week gives answers
to the questions we sought
Our lives build our future
Our hearts give it shape
We map out our dreams
like pictures on a cape
Our innocence is fading
adulthood is creeping in
we must remember the things
that made the person within
