The Barcelona Diaries

Jan 10, 2007 02:42

Hey all. I decided to start updating this thing again to stay in touch and tell you of my grand (and not so grand) adventures.

I just moved into my apartment and I'm lucky enough to have wireless (one of the only apartments, which is surprising since I live in the oldest neighborhood in the city), so I thought an update would be appropriate.

So if you didn't already know, Barcelona is the coolest city...ever. Really. The nightlife is nonstop, the language is cool, the arquitecture and art are awesome, the food is great. There is much more to this fair city, but that will be described in updates to come.

Right now I'll focus on the apartment. I went in expecting a small place with a dark living room and two small bedrooms. In reality:
1. Big living room with TV, DVD player and big couches
2. Smaller living room
3. Another sitting room with a table connecting the two living rooms
4. a BIG kitchen, with a microwave (rare for the apartments they give us)
5. a big single room with a double bed
6. My own private mini-balcony (faux balcony? falcony?)
7. cool decor with original paintings on the walls
8. wireless
9. Spacious bathroom
10. Amazing location, in Barri Gotic, 4 small blocks from Las Ramblas, 10 from school, and with a coffee shop, liquor store, middle eastern restaurant, tapas bar and pub across the street.
11. (this is for Ariel) My room has a bookshelf, and one of the 4 boos there is Kundera's "The Unbearable Lightness of Being"

I will post pictures later...I need to get a chord to upload my pictures because I left it at home :(
