I make no guarantees that this will work for you, but I just added in FT to my existing install without removing the no-cd crack. Since I already have AL, I knew it was going to want to launch from AL since that is the most recent EP, so the install was just FT slotting in behind it. From memory, even when you install stuff packs, the game still launches from the most recent EP you have, so like me, you should be fine to leave the crack in place. If you are still concerned, you should be able to just move the no-cd crack to another folder and just copy in the original .exe from the EP disk.
The NB templates's I have no idea about - where did you download it from?
Well that is good to know about the install. Thank you! As for the empty neighborhoods, I installed empty hoods so there were no people. Maybe it doesn't matter. I got the empty NBs from MATY. There are pages and pages of comments/posts.
Worst case, if I install the EP and it hoses my game I am no worse off than if I did a re-install since I would have to do it anyway. As long as I have the critical stuff backed, which I do, I might be ok.
And I see what you mean now, they don't make it easy to know what to do when you install a new ep/sp. In theory a stuff pack is just going to add new content, not mess with your neighbourhood files at all, so I suppose if you are feeling brave, just move your downloads folder to the desktop, backup everything else, and give it a whirl. *crosses fingers*
No it definitely isn't clear. I think you're right. I'm going to give it a go this weekend and see. Worst case I start over. That might not be bad in the long run anyway.
