Your treatment of the wings was spot on - yours is the first wing!fic that felt real(istic): the way the wings grew, Merlin's reaction, how he dealt with having to live with them. Gaius, ever the scientist, had fun with them, but Arthur loves them most ; wings do spice hugs nicely ^^
