new job, new city
Wow, its been a really really long time since i last updated this thing.
Well...i moved to NYC and started a job as a nurse in a pediatric intensive care unit. Orientation is pretty boring...lots of classes designed to cram entirely too much information into my head in a very very short amount of time.
Today was my first day actually working in the PICU. My preceptor and I had 1 really sick patient. It was cool to actually be able to do "nursy" things. My nsg buddies will understand how weird it is to be able to check blood products and waste narcotics! I'm actually a registered nurse!
The thing that is gonna be hard to grapple with is how does my faith inform my nursing practice? How do I love people the way Christ does? If Jesus were a PICU nurse, what would He do? i want to be a person, a nurse, who makes Jesus look good.
