Last night I took Alison out for the evening. We started by going to McDonald's. All kids love McDonald's, and so do I. So, we're eating, and she absolutely stares at everyone that walks by. Cole asked me how the night went, and I said, "She stared at everyone at McDonald's, but she only waved at the two good looking guys. She's JUST LIKE ME!" After McDonald's, we went to the mall, so I could take her to see the doggies at the pet store. She ran up and down along the window, pointing and rambling on. "dogie!" "Wfff" and so on. Then she would kiss the windows to show that she loved the doggies. When she would see a sleeping one, she'd put her finger to her mouth and go, "sshhh," though for her it comes out more like "Fffff" for some reason.

Once I pried her away from the dogs, I took her to the play area. This is where Super Aunt Mel comes in to play. I'm going to be such a hilarious (or bad, depending on your view) parent someday. The area is meant for toddlers and there's tons of 7-9 year olds running around. So it's crazy scary to let a 20 month old just go wandering around. I follow her every move. She's trying to go down the alligator slide, but these older kids just keep cutting in front of her. She looks at me, so confused. "Can you believe these big kids, Alison?" I say to her (for the kids to hear, of course). "They're such bullies, cutting in front of you like that! I can't believe how mean they are!" The next kid didn't move for like 30 seconds, til Alison had her turn. tee hee. THEN, she wanted into this little red boat. There's room for 3 little kids in it, but this girl saw that Alison wanted in, put on her snob face, and sprawled over the entire boat, so Alison couldn't get in. Once again, Alison looked at me, now knowing what to do. "Alison you have to wait your turn. You have to wait for the SELFISH girl to be done, and THEN you can have a turn, ok?"

After the play area, I got her some frozen yogurt from Marshall Fields, then we visited Borders cuz she LOVES books. I bought here a Strawberry Shortcake book, and a Dora book. She loves Dora. She read it all the way home.

She's also trying to count... she'll move her fingers and say, "3?5?3?5?4?" in no order whatsoever. Too cute.

I talked to Michael this morning for the first time since Christmas. Yeah, he's my brother. We're really close, now, can you tell? Anyway, he told me that the new activities director at his school gave him the task of writing the Valentine's play for next year. It's usually something sappy yet funny, I think. I'm not exactly sure. Anyway he said he had a rough script, that kind of mixed the ideas of Les Mis w/ the Patriot, and so I was like, "And Braveheart?"And he said, "Yeah, and Stella Got her Groove Back," and then we just kept adding ridiculous movies. We threw in that he should have a character with one red shoe, just to tie Tom Hanks into the plot as well. Anyway, he seems to be doing well, so that's good.
