Fare well, September.
What about today could possibly have put me in such a good mood? It's a fine change of pace from the nostalgic trance I've been in since rifling through all the stuff I'd stashed at my parents house over all these years. Even more strange than the distressing dreams this sentimentality has generated are the coincidences that have followed them. High school friends getting in touch, ex boyfriends being on the other end of the telephone. A very good old friend of mine materialized in the bookstore today after having disappeared shortly after I had in 2003. The last time I heard her voice was when I called her from the west coast to tell her I was okay and that I was sorry for running away from everything the way I did (not that it was out of character). I got her voicemail and didn't hear from her again until this afternoon.
We used to work at Zoinks! in Fanuil Hall together. Kind of pathetic that I'm still doing the same old thing in a different poorly managed, independant, over-priced rich-kids playplace.
My fifteen minute break is over and the night is almost through. Tonight, I ride with Joey, Ryon and Frankie to who knows where to sit in the chill of the night and get faced for very little money.
Fare well, September.
