My day is amazing today.
Got an A on my Calc III test. No surprise since it's easy number crunching and Nelson teaches well.
Had my weekly meeting with Dennis for Capstone. I was preparing for the worst since I wrote the majority of the paper Thursday night, just hours before the deadline. I gave it a good effort, but didn't feel it was spectacular. Well, Dennis seems to disagree. He told me it was probably the best done Capstone he read. Shocked, I asked him if there was anything that I didn't do well on that I should rework. He told me I had one typo in which I didn't make a word plural when it should have been. I still need to hear back from Culver and Neil, but it is extremely reassuring to know that the weight of my capstone, and basically that of which holds me down to Augie, is almost completely lifted. All I really need to do is set up a committee time to defend my paper, which I now feel should be a cakewalk.
I also learned that the Tribune Company is selling the Chicago Cubs to Sam Zell, a real estate investor. The article can be found
here. Finally, a team owner that will be more interested in the Cubs winning instead of the Cubs making money.
The Cubs just lost today's game, but it's just 1 of 162 and they showed some real promise in their line-up. I think to continue this splendid day I will do some personal reading and maybe play a video game. Hooray for Monday!
