tonight was mom's 'birthday', and all of us combined couldn't manage to ruin it. minus michael and andrew of course, who are conveniently tucked away at their respective summer programs. my parents went to a movie tonight - together - for the first time since i can remember, and for the first time in just as long, i found myself home alone. wine-sleepy, i fell asleep on the couch one chapter through quicksand. is this what it feels like to be an only child?
