Vincent....

Evan cocked his head to the side as he stared up at the grand painting hanging on the wall. It seemed somewhat different today. He knew the oil painting well, having seen it many, many times. He'd started to find small pictures and images in the Abstract Expressionist painting ( Read more... )

Vincent Daray was hovering at Rosier's side, dressed in all back, towering over him by atleast a head, the fifth year's demeanor stern and dark like the black queen chest peice towering over an enemy pawn.

His lifeless looking green eyes bored at the back of Rosier's head.
"Having fun" he said darkly.

His head tilted to the other side and though the voice startled him, Evan showed no sign of his surprise. The voice sounded familiar and after a few moments, he placed it as a fellow Slytherin.

"Actually, I rather am enjoying myself," Evan replied without much effort. He clasped his hands behind his back, still studying the painting.

Vincent had to smirk, the boy was in his year, they had not spoken, expect perhaps to borrow ink or potion ingrediants in class.

"I'm glad, you'll be glad you did later" he said softly. "I've never seen much use in these kind of paintings, rather dull. I like to see paintings which actually show a story, or even what is shown to be a picture. Otherwise this is utter nonsense"

Vincent moved a little closer, "I'm here to talk to you Rosier, I expect you to listen."

"It's only nonsense to those how lack the ability to look deeper than the top coat of paint. A painting's true story usually isn't very obvious," Evan replied, turning slightly to look at the other boy. They shared a dorm, didn't they? Evan had never really paid much attention to his dormmates.

Not replying to Vincent's latter statement, Evan did nothing more than arch his eyebrow in response.

Vincent glared at him with dark powerful eyes, his arm twinged, as it did every time someone was called to Voldermorts will, the boy looked battered and bruised as it was, and it wasn't for once from his uncles beatings.

"Don't hurt Noreen again."

Evan had to resist hard to keep from laughing out loud. "Noreen sent you? Get outta here! You know, I always knew that she wasn't as tough as she seems."

Though his tone was quiet, it still held a mock tinge of playfulness, as if he were having the time of his life. But Evan could see the look on Vincent's face, the tired and bitter expression.

Kids these days. They want to take the world on their shoulders. Guess they've never read about Atlas....

Evan's words caught Vincent's gaurd, "I'm not leaving until you understand the seriousness of my words. Noreen didn't send me, she informed me of what you did, and if there was any decency about you, you would watch your back."

"Or I'll be doing more than threatening you"

Vincent rolled up his sleeve, the tatoo bared for the almost 6th year to see. "Get the picture?"

He might not have taken Vincent's words seriously, but seeing the Dark Mark on the other boy's arm alerted him. Evan's eyes widen slightly, but he kept his cool.

"What a pretty little drawing," he drawled, his eyes quickly checking the room to see who else was around. No one of seeming importance.

Vincent Daray had to smirk he could already sense the fear, he had already seen so much fear, he knew it even when those who didn't seem to show it.

"Pretty indeed," he said smoothly, "and I know alot of people with the same mark. Don't make it worse for you're self Rosier, I have to stay in the same dorm with you such an indecent tosser as it is, I don't need you in my way in my actual life."

"Mate, you're really wasting your time here," Evan said plainly, folding his arms over his chest. "You might have a few friends, but I have to admit that I do too. Perhaps I should let my father know that they've starting letting uncapable nitwits in with the crowd."

He offered a sly smirk and bowed his head slightly. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a few more paintings I've been looking forward to seeing."

Vincent automatically grabbed his collar and went to hit him, growling.

"You insult Voldermort's decisions again and I'll kill you regardless of the consequences!" he trailed off in a hushed but dark whisper, people were coming in and he finally let go of the boy's collar and walked off.

"Don't worry too much Rosier, you're digging your own grave" and he walked off.

Watching him storm off, Evan reached up and straightened his collar. He wasn't afraid of the other boy in the least bit. But he would have to inform his father of this incident.

He couldn't help but wonder why it was that Vincent had been allowed in as a Death Eater. Evan's father had made it clear that he didn't want Evan to even consider it until after finishing school. That way, he was fully educated and could serve the Dark Lord at his best.

Shrugging the incident off, Evan continued on, looking at the art as if nothing had happened.
