Character Information
Name: Nathan Drake
Fandom: Uncharted
Timeline Summary: After the events of Uncharted 2, but right before the events of Uncharted 3.

Are you importing your character from another game? nope.
Background: Probably anything you could possibly want to know is here.
Personality: I think the best way to describe Nate’s personality, is that he is a bit of a child. He does what he loves, despite how…questionable said occupation is. He’s an international thief, for lack of a better term. Although the term ‘tomb robber’ is also more than a little fitting. The thing is though, I don’t really think he’d ever be able to do anything else; this is what he lives for. There’s a legend and records of ‘great treasure’? Oh it’s hidden in some ancient tomb hell knows where? No problem. He’ll find it, flanked by his mentor Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan. Along the way, Nate is bound to hit an opposing side, usually complete with an entire mini-army, wanting the same ‘treasure’ as he. But let’s face it; he is good at what he does.
It’s all a big game to him, and he has to win. He will play jokes and pranks, say really silly one-liners; he’s witty and cocky, even when the situation doesn’t call for it. He takes on a slightly careless attitude, probably as both a way to lighten the otherwise mostly grim situation, and as a sort of defense mechanism against the seriousness.

All that said, there IS a serious side to him, usually seen when someone he cares about is in danger, let alone actually gets hurt. It’s all fun and games until that point. Nate is reckless beyond belief, but that recklessness extends towards only himself. When those that mean something to him are put in danger, he will do anything to eliminate said danger, to save them. The thing about him is that he definitely has a hero complex going on, and the actions he takes all seem to fuel it. He hold a sort of ideology about , in that he recognizes REAL evil, the kind that can endanger the entire world or just the ones close to him, and he thinks it’s up to him to stop it. And he usually goes at it head first.

Going back to the idea that he approaches what he does as a game, Nate is quite competitive. He is backed by his skill and his morals, and won’t stand for it if he is screwed over, or if he is losing in one of his ‘games’. He might not have a concrete plan going into the battle, but what he definitely is good at is thinking quick on his feet. He’s resourceful, amazing at improvising and in a way, an opportunist. He is extremely adaptable- a skill that is backed by an intelligence level higher that it seems most of the time. He is always thinking (even though, again, it doesn’t always look it), as he is always working out a plan, or a mode of action, or both almost simultaneously. He’s surprisingly good at working under pressure and intense situations, able to see the solution quickly. So when he relays his plans to the people helping him, usually Victor Sullivan, he shows his more authoritative and serious side. Although, that is still sometimes accompanied by the wise-cracks and jokes that make up a good part of Nate’s personality.

Nate is also blessed with incredible luck. There have been too many times where a temple has nearly collapsed on him, or a ledge nearly broke with him on it, of a train crashed and hung of a ledge in the incredible cold, or a plane went down and the parachute had a hole in it…And this is not mentioning the incredible amount of times mercenaries, pirates and other gun-wielding hostiles tried taking him out. But always it seems, luck chooses Nate’s side. But he is very good at what he does, so his wins aren’t all simply because of luck. He hasn’t lucked out to the top ranks through his entire career.

The next thing that I want to mention is well…in relation to how easily Nate CAN actually kill. In all the games, he has been pitted against small armies of men who all strive for the same thing as he. But he kills them, so that he isn’t killed. He recognizes their intentions, and it then boils down to a simple question of survival. He doesn’t kill because he likes it, but more so because he has to. When you have dozens of men with guns who DON’T have a problem killing you coming after you, you’re going to take them out before they take you out. It’s not just about getting to the treasure; if a small army is coming at something, with big guns, that means it’s something big, and in Nate’s head, he needs to get to it first, because in his experience, it’s not always just treasure. It’s also a curse, or something that will give those powerful bastards more power. Again, going back to how Nate sees evil; he sees that as evil, and will do his damn hardest to stop it.
One more thing to note about this, is that despite killing a LOT of men, he has deep issues with involving and killing innocents; people not involved in his stupid antics and battles.

Nate though, also has a thinner skin than he leads on. He is extremely attached to Sully, who has become like a father to him. When he thought Sully was dead (several times), his first impulsive reaction was completely reckless and irrational-he wants revenge and he wants it fast. And if not fast and immediate, he WILL make sure they get it slower, but three-fold. When he thought Elena was dead, although not seen, it was later said that he got extremely emotional.
He is still human; he has his fears and insecurities. He wants approval, although that doesn’t really shine through too much, as he seems to know how to hide it well, behind a joke, or another one of his wise cracks. But at the same time, if someone throws a wise crack back at him, he doesn’t really take it kindly.
Based on his past-on the fact that his mother committed suicide, and his father simply surrendered him to a boarding house, it’s safe to say that underneath, he has deep self-worth issues. Although again, he doesn’t let on to those.
He also has an extreme fear of clowns. Very, very bad fear.

Powers, Skills, and Abilities: Nate is completely human, so there’s no ‘powers’ to speak of. However, he is a very skilled man-he is extremely resourceful and can improvise in a matter of seconds. He knows how to use a very wide range of weapons, and if doesn’t well…he figures it out along the way. He has used a very wide variety of guns, so chances are, figuring out a new gun really isn’t a lot of work for him. Nate is also very physically fit, as he has very impressive skills in parkour (and, free-climbing, as it were), and hand to hand combat. He knows how to take care of himself in a fight.
He’s also able to pilot an array of machines, including planes, ships, stick-shift cars. It can be assumed that the list won’t stop there.
He is also able to read and understand 13th century Latin and 16th century Spanish. Modern day Spanish, however, is a little more than a disaster for him.

First Person:
[ The feed comes on, with the man walking down the hospital’s hallways, his pace almost a quick jog. ]

[ A mutter now, as he begins to make his way down the halls. ] Exit….exit. Where’s the damn exit to this place?

[He looks at the device in his hand again, only now to see the blinking light. He furrows his brows, raising it slightly higher to his face. ] Ugh. Ooops.

[ He swings a door open, finally ending up outside. He looks up, at first simply glad to be out of the place, before he quickly does a double take at the sky. ] Two moons? Since when does Earth have…

Oh crap. Where am I?

This is so not cool. [ And with that, the feed ends. ]

Third Person:

Nate burst through the thick trees of the jungle, as the bullets followed close behind. With a big oof, he ducked, rolling and then vaulting over one of the ruined walls of the old temple.
He crouched, reloading his own pistol, before tentatively lifting his head.
“Oh crap,” ducking back down as more men appeared in the area, right after him. With guns. Big guns. “Where are you all coming from,” it was more of a hiss, said to himself. He looked at the temple entrance, eyes scanning for more cover.
Blindly throwing a grenade to his attackers, Nate took off from his spot, sprinting up the stone stairs to the platform, almost about to duck behind the wall for cover when-
--The entire floor beneath his feet was magically gone, crumbling away to the lower levels of the temple. “Crap, crap-- Shit!” He hit the hard rock rolling, gun flying out of his hand as he pushed himself up, unsteadily. Damn it. “Sully, I hope you hurry up…” That old man was supposed to be activating some hidden trap mechanism. Oh-ho that would get those pirates off their asses.
Nate froze though, as the entire structure rumbled, before grinning as he heard the definitie sound of blades activating. “Ha-ha! Way to go, Sully!” It was a gleeful yell as he grinned, before looking to the depths of the floor he was on now. Wait…what was that…Blades? Coming at him?
“Oh no, nononono,” and he spun on his feet, starting to sprint for his dear life the opposite direction, his eyes immediately beginning to look for all the possible ways on not getting filleted. “Sully! Turn it off! Turn it off!!” This just kept on getting better and better.
