[A deft and swift hand is sketching across the paper. The image takes form quickly, and when done, looks something like this.

Beneath the rather freakish vision, Huo's neat handwriting:]

Appearances do not necessarily reflect character.

True colors make one wonder.

You're an artist as well, I see.

Those things seem to keep to the woods down there. Can't say I'm sorry about that, fascinating as they look.

It appears that I am, though I had a ready model.

They are startling, true, but in fact they are tame. I think they may even agree to be ridden.

You don't think those wings would actually work? They look not a little atrophied, but so does the whole creature.

I have seen them fly. Whether they could do so with a man's weight on their backs, I cannot guess.

You say they're carnivores, yet amenable to riders? That's an intriguing combination.

[... Yeah, so going to sneak down there in the evening now.]

They are, apparently, 'magical creatures'.

Shall we, then? [Really, how can anyone resist?]

I see. That's an interesting distinction. [Something about it seems off to him, but he can't quite pinpoint what.]

Sounds like a plan. You think we ought to go by the butcher's and bring something to bribe them with? I don't really have time for a hunt today, so might as well avail ourselves of the conveniences of civilised society.

An excellent idea, let us do that.

I doubt we will find a fitting bridle in the bazaar, but perhaps I can improvise something - unless you believe that we can do without.

The stables on Melee Island might have something suitable to borrow. Whether the creatures will consent to bridles, we'll have to see, hm? You've at least read up on them.

They shall, I think. And seeing that if our plan works, we will be a good distance above the ground, I would much prefer at least some means of control.

If you would be so kind as to go through the butcher's, and I will pass by the stables - we can go down below within the hour.

[OOC: Must log this. Must. XD]

[ooc: It doesn't make much difference to me, I get about as wordy either way. Log comm is probably a little neater? Shall I start?]
