Spring Break
Today we went to the Houston Zoo. We took advantage of a discounted membership last month, so we can go as often as we like. The membership card is also good in a lot of other zoos across the country. We took our time looking at some of the stuff we missed the last time. The highlight was getting to eat in the Macaw Cafe. Has anyone else been restaurant-deprived when it comes to places like this? It's either "that's too expensive; let's make a picnic lunch" or "that's too tacky; let's eat at a nicer restaurant somewhere else." Sometimes it's just fun to eat where you are. It was like a special treat for me even though it was expensive considering what we got. Cheeseburgers, fries, and drinks for 2 people.... $22. yikes. Then we got back to the car, and I had a parking ticket for $25. Stupid zoo. Their parking lot was full an hour after it opened, so where are you supposed to park?
Got our documents for the cruise today. Only 3 weeks to go! Gotta get a backpack and some sensible shoes. And start walking or I'm gonna die at Chichen Itza.
