riding life like a rollercoaster, or maybe a surf board. timing each wave, missing some, and sometimes coming down the wave at full-speed
SURF

WAVES CRASH RHYTHMICALLY
WRITING A SONG, A HYMN FROM GOD
MEN AND WOMEN FLOAT MYSTICALLY
PADDLING METHODICALLY-IN GOLDEN SUN
KIDS WATCH FROM THE SANDY SHORE
TRANSFIXED-FROZEN THERE
DREAMING OF THE THRILL THEY SEE
RIDING WAVES SURROGATELY
AND STILL THE SONG PLAYS
ANGELS STRUMMING 12STRING GUITARS
RAINY DAYS COME, NO WAVE RIDERS DARE
AND STILL THE MUSIC PLAYS
AT TIMES LOUDER/ THEN SOFTER
FRIENDS COAXED OUT AT MIDNIGHT
MYSTIFIED BY THE BREWING STORM
THE CHOIR SINGS ALONG
STORM BLOWN LOGS STREWN ABOUT
WET SANDS SWALLOW DRIFTWOOD
MELODIES FROM THE CREATOR
OCEAN WAVES CRASHING

A POEM INSPIRED BY MEMORIES OF WESTPORT, GREYLAND, PACIFIC BEACH, AND IDEALIZED VISIONS OF SURFING AROUND THE WORLD. (BY ERIK FELCH)
yeah, the surfing analogy has always worked for me.
dynamic, shifting, trust it, time it, love unabbashed.
