[GLaDOS has finally gotten back a regain. .... it's a potato. No, in fact it's a potato battery. She hates this place.]

You know, I'd almost forgotten what a horrible sense of humour this place had. But then they do things like this and it all comes flooding back.

Well if you're listening. Ha, ha. That's how funny I think you are. Why don't you find ( Read more... )

Trying to decide what to do with it.

[Dexter then scuttles over, inspecting it.]

Hm, it seems to be some sort of battery. Cute. I was doing that sort of thing when I was in diapers.

[Just looking at it.]

They did not take them home and utilize it? When I discovered that, I integrated into the first parts of my laboratory I ever built!

Such simple-minded fools not understanding the value of this technology...

[Oh okay. She likes you.]

They were a bit busy.

[Being killed by the neurotoxin.]

There's was a lot of things going on that day.

A laboratory. I take it you know quite a lot about science then?

That is too bad then...

[He takes this moment to adjust his clothes, and wear a proud smile upon his face.]

Of course! I am Dexter, Boy Genius! A child prodigy among child prodigies! I have my own secret laboratory back home, hidden from ... most of the idiots that inhabit my living residence.

How fascinating.

[A smile on her own face.]

I am GLaDOS. Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System. I control the Aperture Science Laboratories and the Enrichment Center at home.

So you're saying, back wherever you came from, you're an artificial intelligence system that runs a laboratory...? Fascinating...

[He pauses for a moment and stares, comparing her and Computer in his mind.]

I got a gal back home myself that keeps my lab running! Come to think of it, you look a little bit how I imagined Computer to look if she was a human!

I think we're going to get along juuust fine. It's a pleasure to meet you, GLaDOS.

[he says that with a slight blush]

[She will never understand humans.]

Well that's good. I also teach science here as well. Though apparently we're closed for the summer.

Oh, you have an AI in your lab at home?

Yes, ma'am! She's quite the gal! The one person in my life I can always rely on, that's for sure!

How unfortunate. Though, a summer free of dodgeball and the usual horrors of any class that is not science is always welcomed!

[He laughs nervously.]

I can see I have something to look forward the next school year, though!

[Small smirk at that.]

Computers are generally more reliable then humans.

[Oh right, the rest of the school.]

Oh good. We need more people interested in science here. Instead of the people just interested in smashing things. We sadly have a large percentage of people here who like to solve their problems by trying to hit them with sticks. It's a wonder anything get's done around here, let alone people trying to escape.
