I like planning. I met with my new advisor today. He is the epitome of dorky, awkward, middle-aged intellectual. I kind of like it. I walked in his office and the first thing he did was look at my outfit and say, "I guess gray is the new black" and laugh hysterically. I'll see you in EC 35 next fall, then. :)

I ought to be taking Latin American politics. But it's so hard to fit classes like that in my major (if I don't do polisci) since I'm doing the global conflict cluster.

I'm planning to take it with Dapice. His reviews are... mixed... but he's my best option.

no I read his reviews and met him in person, and I could see why he got mixed reviews. He was kind of awkward, he kept laughing really hard at his own jokes and he was very straightforward about how he doesn't think the world bank is doing anything, but he was also very likable and definitely knows his stuff. So I can imagine him being a good prof.
