For the life of me,and I know as soon as someone finds it I'll feel like a complete idiot, I can't remember the name of a fic I read a while ago. I'm glad I could help. Julesmonster is one of my favorite QaF writers, especially because we're both anti-mikey and anti-lesbians, although she is sometimes nice to the lesbians.

Mostly due to the constant putdowns. I know Brian gives as good as he gets, but she continuously takes Brian's money, and then also denies his right to be Gus's father. She never sees any good in Brian, no matter what he did for the family.

She became more relaxed about Brian being in Gus' life especially after Justin's bashing,she knew that Brian was the one who,not only could handle his mood swings,but was able to heal Justin. Something like that needs to be done with care and gentleness,feelings that she was then privy too or she knew Jen wouldn't have entrusted her son's care to Brian. Actually it was Linds who took Brian's money,Mel would've gladly turned it down given the choice.

But yes,she does have some animosity towards Brian but it's more to do with her own jealous over Brian's success,money and her partner's unnatural attachment to Brian.
