Chris Hobbs Redeemed, Jealous Brian, Family Learning to Treat Brian Right

Mar 09, 2013 20:17

I decided I would go ahead and make one more post after all, so here it is. Three more requests:

1) While I love to hate on Chris Hobbs as much as any B/J fan, I've also always felt sorry for him. My personal interpretation of his character has always been that he is a closet case in love with Justin, and that the real reason behind the bashing was pure jealousy. So I would like some recs in which he comes to terms with himself and his feelings and, while I do NOT want him to end up involved with Justin sexually at all outside of the canon handjob, I would definitely like to see Brian and Justin both help him and for him to end up happy and over his crush on Justin. I would still like a lot of focus to be on B/J, though, because that is always going to be the main reason I read Queer As Folk fic in the first place. I don't care about the time period here - it could be before the Prom and the bashing not happening at all, or it could be after and Justin and Brian have to find a way to truly forgive Chris and help him. Basically, I want to see Chris grow the hell up and learn to be happy with who he is with help from our favorite couple.

2) Jealousy, possessiveness, and protectiveness are some of my favorite things in fic. On the show, we see plenty of jealousy in Justin even if it isn't always totally obvious, but Brian actually seems to want Justin to be with other men and I've always hated that. Occasionally there are little hints of him being jealous over Justin, but that's never really satisfied me. So I want to see Brian get really, truly jealous over and possessive and protective of Justin, both in private and in public. I want to see him stake his claim. As I mentioned, though, I've already been through the tags and all sorts of other places several times so the less well-known the fics you rec are, the better. I consider it a bonus if the boys end up becoming exclusive, and a major bonus if they eventually ditch the condoms and start doing it raw, which is yet another huge kink of mine.

3) It really burns me up the way Brian gets treated on the show. It seems to me that his adoptive family blames him for absolutely everything even when he doesn't even know about it before they start in on him, that they expect him to fix all of their problems without ever thanking him, and that a lot of the time they're just downright cruel. For example, there is the way Debbie and Mel especially call him 'Asshole' all the time as if that's his actual name. Seeing as the entire family knows enough about Brian to know his biological family always treated him horribly, especially Debbie and Michael, I sometimes wish I could beat them all up. Brian never defends himself, either, likely due to his belief that he's worthless and his determination not to let anyone see that he is capable of hurting just like any human being. So I want to see Brian stand up for himself, or see Justin stand up for him, and have the family actually realize how horrible they've been to Brian and start treating him right without embarrassing him with apologies or treating him like they pity him or something instead of just being sorry and trying to make amends without making him too uncomfortable in the process. Oh, and finally thanking them for everything he's done for them, not just through words but also through actions. I want them to be a real family to him instead of just a slightly better option than what he had with his biological family.

This is from the previous post to remind you of my basic tastes:

I've been spending a lot of time looking through the community tags here as well as looking through other sites like Across The Pond, FanFiction.Net, etc. and I'm beginning to have serious trouble finding Brian/Justin stories I want to read either again or for the first time, so I was really hoping to get some help. First of all I should say that I prefer NC-17 fics that are completed or are still being regularly updated and are at least two thousand words long, although I prefer longer fic for the most part. Things I don't touch with a ten foot pole are stories with scat, watersports, permanent major character death (either Brian or Justin), infidelity (not necessarilly tricking, but cheating after becoming monogomous), unhappy endings, and AUs that are historical or where the boys' ages are reversed. Other than that I go for pretty much everything. Oh, and if the story is especially great, I don't mind a lower rating.

Also, this particular statement is true for this post as well:

Okay, now normally I wouldn't ask for this, but since these requests are a bit vague I was hoping you guys would include a little information for each rec you give me. It doesn't need to be a full blown summary or anything, just an idea of what the fic is about. Thank you all for your help, I really don't know what I'd do without this community. Take care everyone!

Thank you all for your help!

UPDATE: There are quite a few recs now, but more are always welcome! Thanks, everyone!
