In other news, had a wonderful time this weekend at
beardedwonder's and
yvonneoforkney's (yes I know both LJs have been deleted but still good netiquette, I think, to reference properly) wedding. After a couple of tartan troubles on the morning of the wedding (yes I was wearing full Highland dress, and may I say it is rather flattering for the larger gentleman, it covers a multitude of sins - pics on "Facepalm"), both Graeme and I managed to get to the Registry Office in plenty of time (enough time to have a couple of glasses of champagne and a pint beforehand) with both rings. The ceremony went without a hitch and the reception (including my speech) went superbly, so all was good. Graeme and Yvonne had chosen a ceilidh for the evenings entertainment, and it was my first experience of one. I was pretty awful but loved every minute of it.
spiritofdee was, of course, awesome at "Stripping the Willow", the "Gay Gordons" and other such silly named dances, due to her previous years of classes, and so she dragged me on to the dance-floor everytime they announced a new one. Even with such forceful persuasion I think I am somewhat converted.
Talking about dancing (segway-tastic), this Friday sees the re-birth of Cyberia, and while I have been asked to DJ this one, I have tried to stay well clear of the organisers so that they can give it their own style. I will only be DJing synthpop (well maybe a little bit of futurepop towards the end of the night as well) as there are so many new good synthpop acts out there that I haven't heard in a club, particularly Akanoid and Fantazja, but there'll be many others as well. Really looking forward to it. Of course there will be 4 other DJs as well playing a whole range of stuff that fall under the banner of EBM/Industrial. Hope to see many of you there!
